The cytology laboratory staffed by Vythoulka-Liveri clinic, operates in the center of Zakynthos town since 1999, under the responsibility of the cytologist Liveri Katerina.

The doctor, with active participation in the events of Medicine until today, constantly monitors and is informed about scientific developments, and applies the most modern techniques in the field of Cytology, always with persistence and adhering to the smallest detail.

He advises and guides patients accordingly, individually according to each case, but also based on her many years of clinical and laboratory experience.

Katerina Liveri and her well-trained medical staff aim at prevention, timely and accurate diagnosis, and prognosis of neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases, always with respect, responsibility and putting the needs of those examined as a first priority.

The commitment of the laboratory is to carry out the tests successfully, with maximum accuracy and with as little inconvenience as possible for the patient himself.

Katerina Liveri

  • 1974-1986: School years in Zakynthos.
  • 1986: Admission, with Panhellenic examinations, to the Medical School of Ioannina.
  • 1986-1993: Studying at the Medical School of Ioannina and obtaining a degree.
  • 1993-1997: Specialty of Cytology at the hospital "Evangelismos".
  • 1998: Agricultural clinic in Fr.I. Pantokrator Zante.
  • 1999: Starting profession as a cytologist.
    Member of the Hellenic Society of Clinical Cytology. Attending conferences and webinars of the cytology Society. Attending Webinars of international cytological organizations (IAC-EFCS).
  • 2022:attending Panhellenic Congress of cervical and colposcopy pathology in Ioannina.
  • 2023: presentation of an interesting personal case on the Webinar of salivary cells of the Cytology Society.

Both direct contact with the patient, for the collection of samples, as well as cooperation with colleagues-treating doctors, is considered necessary and valuable for the reliability of diagnoses, for the benefit of the patient, which is what is required in every medical practice.

The clinic has secretarial support with a system for computerizing the results, the ability to send in electronic form both the report and representative photos of cytological smears or even the video of FNA made under ultrasound control. The glass slides are kept on file for a period of time, as prescribed by the Cytological Society guidelines.
